Quick Start Guide

This guide walks you through creating your first Google Shopping feed. You’ll have a working feed URL in about 5 minutes.

Make sure you have:

  • Feedy McFeed Feed installed on your Shopify store
  • At least one active product in your catalog
  • Products synced (check the dashboard for product count)
  1. Go to the Feeds page

From the Feedy McFeed Feed dashboard, click Feeds in the left sidebar.

  2. Click “Create Feed”

Click the Create Feed button in the top-right corner.

  3. Choose your platform

Select Google Shopping as your platform. This is the most common choice for getting started.

  4. Name your feed

Enter a descriptive name like “Google Shopping - All Products” or “US Google Feed”.

  5. Select products to include

    Choose which products to include:

    • All products — Include everything in your catalog
    • By collection — Only products in specific collections
    • By product type — Filter by product type
    • By vendor — Filter by vendor/brand
  6. Choose your format

Select XML (recommended for Google). You can also use TSV if you prefer.

  7. Review and create

Review your settings and click Create Feed.

After creation, Feedy McFeed Feed generates your feed in the background. This usually takes less than a minute for stores with under 10,000 products.

You’ll see:

  • Feed URL — Copy this to use in Google Merchant Center
  • Health Score — How well your product data meets Google’s requirements
  • Product Count — How many products are in the feed

To get your products into Google Shopping:

  1. Connect your GMC account
  2. Add your feed URL to GMC

Get better results by:

  1. Fixing validation issues — Address any warnings or errors
  2. Optimizing titles with AI — Improve click-through rates
  3. Adding missing attributes — Fill in GTINs, brands, etc.

Keep your feed fresh:

  1. Schedule automatic updates
  2. Configure update frequency

For most stores, every 6-12 hours works well. If you change prices frequently, consider more frequent updates.
