Connecting to Google Merchant Center

Connecting Google Merchant Center (GMC) to Feedy McFeed Feed enables direct product upload, status syncing, and performance tracking. This guide walks you through the connection process.

Before connecting, ensure you have:

Feedy McFeed Feed supports two ways to get products into GMC:

  1. Go to GMC Settings

    In Feedy McFeed Feed, click GMC in the left sidebar.

  2. Click Connect

    Click the Connect Google Merchant Center button.

  3. Sign in to Google

    You’ll be redirected to Google. Sign in with the account that has GMC access.

  4. Grant permissions

    Review and approve the permissions Feedy McFeed Feed needs:

    • View and manage your Merchant Center account
    • Manage your product listings
  5. Select your Merchant ID

    If you have multiple GMC accounts, select the one to connect.

  6. Confirm connection

    Click Confirm to complete the connection.

Once connected, Feedy McFeed Feed can:

See which products are:

  • Approved — Showing in ads
  • Pending — Being reviewed
  • Disapproved — Issues need fixing

View metrics from GMC:

  • Impressions
  • Clicks
  • Click-through rate
  • Conversions (if tracking enabled)

Push products via API instead of feed URL (optional).

Feedy McFeed Feed requests these Google permissions:

We never access:

  • Your Google Ads account
  • Your Google Analytics
  • Any other Google services

Cause: Your Google account doesn’t have GMC admin access. Solution: Sign in with an account that has admin permissions, or ask a GMC admin to grant you access.

Cause: Your Google account isn’t linked to any GMC account. Solution: Create a GMC account or get access from your organization.

Cause: Network or Google service issue. Solution: Wait a few minutes and try again.

Cause: Your Google account has access to multiple Merchant IDs. Solution: Select the correct Merchant ID during connection setup.

After connecting, verify the setup:

  1. Go to GMC in Feedy McFeed Feed
  2. Check the connection status shows “Connected”
  3. Verify your Merchant ID is correct
  4. Check that product sync status is updating
  • OAuth 2.0 for secure authentication
  • AES-256-CBC encryption for stored tokens
  • No passwords stored
  • Tokens refreshed automatically

To disconnect Feedy McFeed Feed from GMC:

From Feedy McFeed Feed:

  1. Go to GMC
  2. Click Disconnect
  3. Confirm disconnection

From Google:

  1. Go to Google Account Security
  2. Find “Third-party apps with account access”
  3. Remove Feedy McFeed Feed

After connecting:

  1. Set up feed URLs in GMC (recommended)
  2. Or enable direct upload
  3. Monitor product status
  4. Track performance data

Do I need a GMC connection to use Feedy McFeed Feed?

No. You can use Feedy McFeed Feed to generate feeds and manually submit them to GMC. The connection enables additional features like status syncing and performance tracking.

Currently, Feedy McFeed Feed supports one GMC connection per store. Contact support if you need multiple accounts.

Will disconnecting affect my existing feeds?

No. Your feeds remain intact. You’ll just lose the status syncing and performance tracking features.
