Connection Issues with GMC

GMC connection issues prevent status syncing and direct upload. This guide helps you diagnose and fix connection problems.

  1. Go to GMC in the sidebar
  2. View connection status
  3. Check for error messages

Cause: OAuth token expired

Fix:

  1. Click Reconnect
  2. Sign in to Google
  3. Grant permissions
  4. Connection restored

Causes:

  • Google account doesn’t have GMC access
  • Permissions revoked
  • Wrong account used

Fix:

  1. Verify you have GMC admin access
  2. Use correct Google account
  3. Check GMC user permissions

Cause: Account not linked to GMC

Fix:

  1. Create GMC account at merchants.google.com
  2. Or get access from organization admin
  3. Retry connection

Cause: Network or Google service issue

Fix:

  1. Check internet connection
  2. Try again in a few minutes
  3. Verify Google services are up
  1. Go to GMC
  2. Click Reconnect (or Connect if disconnected)
  3. Sign in to Google
  4. Select Merchant ID
  5. Grant permissions
  6. Verify connection
  1. Disconnect completely
  2. Clear browser cookies
  3. Try connecting fresh
  4. Use incognito window if issues persist

Feedy McFeed Feed needs:

  • Content API access
  • Merchant reports access
  1. Go to Google Account Security
  2. Find “Third-party apps”
  3. Find Feedy McFeed Feed
  4. Verify permissions
  1. Remove Feedy McFeed Feed from Google Account
  2. Disconnect in Feedy McFeed Feed
  3. Reconnect fresh
  4. Grant all permissions

If you have multiple GMC accounts:

  1. Note the correct Merchant ID
  2. During connection, select correct one
  3. Verify ID after connecting
  1. Disconnect current account
  2. Reconnect with correct account
  3. Ensure signed into right Google account first

Check:

  • Connection is active
  • Sync schedule running
  • No errors in sync log

Fix:

  1. Click Sync Status manually
  2. Wait for completion
  3. Verify data appears

Causes:

  • Just connected (needs time)
  • No advertising running
  • Reports API access issue

Fix:

  1. Wait 24-48 hours after connecting
  2. Verify ads are running
  3. Check connection has reports permission

Check:

  • Connection is active
  • Products meet GMC requirements
  • No API quota issues

Fix:

  1. Check upload error messages
  2. Fix product issues
  3. Retry upload

Cause: Too many API calls

Fix:

  1. Wait for quota reset (daily)
  2. Reduce upload frequency
  3. Use feed URL method instead
  1. Go to GMC settings
  2. Click Test Connection
  3. Check for errors
  1. Verify signed into correct Google account
  2. Confirm GMC access
  3. Check no 2FA issues
  1. Disconnect GMC
  2. Clear browser cache
  3. Reconnect fresh
  1. Log into GMC directly
  2. Verify account is active
  3. Check for GMC-side issues

Contact support if:

  • Repeated connection failures
  • Error messages unclear
  • Connection works but sync fails
  • Direct upload consistently failing

Include:

  • Merchant ID
  • Error messages
  • Steps already tried
  • When issue started
