Sync Issues with Shopify

Product sync keeps Feedy McFeed Feed data current with your Shopify store. When sync fails, your feeds may show outdated data.

  1. Go to Dashboard
  2. View “Last Sync” timestamp
  3. Check sync status indicator

Symptoms: Products not updating

Causes:

  • Sync schedule not set
  • Webhook issues
  • App permissions problem

Fix:

  1. Click Sync Now manually
  2. Check sync schedule in Settings
  3. Verify app permissions in Shopify

Symptoms: Error message shown

Causes:

  • API rate limit
  • Network timeout
  • Shopify API issues

Fix:

  1. Wait 15-30 minutes
  2. Click Sync Now to retry
  3. Contact support if repeated failures

Symptoms: New products missing

Causes:

  • Product is draft/archived
  • Sync hasn’t run yet
  • Product in excluded collection

Fix:

  1. Verify product is Active in Shopify
  2. Click Sync Now
  3. Check filter settings

Symptoms: Old prices, descriptions, etc.

Cause: Sync lag

Fix:

  1. Click Sync Now
  2. Wait for completion
  3. Regenerate affected feeds
  1. Go to Settings > Sync
  2. Click Full Sync
  3. All products refresh from Shopify

Use when:

  • Many discrepancies
  • After bulk Shopify updates
  • Troubleshooting data issues
  1. Go to Dashboard
  2. Click Sync Now
  3. Only changed products update

Use for:

  • Regular updates
  • Quick refresh

Configure in Settings:

Real-time updates when:

  • Products created
  • Products updated
  • Products deleted

Enable in Settings > Sync > Webhooks

Symptoms: Sync fails with rate limit error

Cause: Too many API calls

Fix:

  1. Wait 1 hour
  2. Sync will resume automatically
  3. Reduce other apps if frequent

Symptoms: Fields not syncing correctly

Cause: Shopify API update

Fix:

  1. Contact support
  2. We update regularly for API changes

Symptoms: Some data not syncing

Cause: App needs additional permissions

Fix:

  1. Go to Shopify Admin > Apps
  2. Find Feedy McFeed Feed
  3. Click to update permissions

If permissions are broken:

  1. Note your settings
  2. Uninstall app
  3. Reinstall from App Store
  4. Reconfigure settings

Symptoms: Wrong data in feeds

Check:

  1. Go to Settings > Field Mappings
  2. Verify Shopify fields map correctly
  3. Update mappings if needed

Fix:

  1. Verify metafield namespace/key
  2. Check metafield type matches
  3. Update mapping configuration

For stores with 100,000+ products:

  • May take several hours
  • Progress shown in dashboard
  • Don’t interrupt
  • Incremental only updates changes
  • Much faster than full sync
  • Scheduled automatically

Contact support if:

  • Repeated sync failures
  • Data consistently wrong
  • Missing products after sync
  • Error messages unclear

Include:

  • Last successful sync time
  • Error messages
  • Products affected
  • Recent Shopify changes
