Sync Issues with Shopify
Product sync keeps Feedy McFeed Feed data current with your Shopify store. When sync fails, your feeds may show outdated data.
Checking Sync Status
Section titled “Checking Sync Status”- Go to Dashboard
- View “Last Sync” timestamp
- Check sync status indicator
Status Indicators
Section titled “Status Indicators”| Status | Meaning |

| Synced | Up to date |
| Syncing | Currently updating |
| Sync failed | Error occurred |
| Never synced | Initial sync pending |
Common Sync Issues
Section titled “Common Sync Issues”Sync Not Running
Section titled “Sync Not Running”Symptoms: Products not updating
Causes:
- Sync schedule not set
- Webhook issues
- App permissions problem
Fix:
- Click Sync Now manually
- Check sync schedule in Settings
- Verify app permissions in Shopify
Sync Failed
Section titled “Sync Failed”Symptoms: Error message shown
Causes:
- API rate limit
- Network timeout
- Shopify API issues
Fix:
- Wait 15-30 minutes
- Click Sync Now to retry
- Contact support if repeated failures
Products Not Appearing
Section titled “Products Not Appearing”Symptoms: New products missing
Causes:
- Product is draft/archived
- Sync hasn’t run yet
- Product in excluded collection
Fix:
- Verify product is Active in Shopify
- Click Sync Now
- Check filter settings
Product Data Outdated
Section titled “Product Data Outdated”Symptoms: Old prices, descriptions, etc.
Cause: Sync lag
Fix:
- Click Sync Now
- Wait for completion
- Regenerate affected feeds
Manual Sync
Section titled “Manual Sync”Full Sync
Section titled “Full Sync”- Go to Settings > Sync
- Click Full Sync
- All products refresh from Shopify
Use when:
- Many discrepancies
- After bulk Shopify updates
- Troubleshooting data issues
Incremental Sync
Section titled “Incremental Sync”- Go to Dashboard
- Click Sync Now
- Only changed products update
Use for:
- Regular updates
- Quick refresh
Sync Frequency
Section titled “Sync Frequency”Automatic Sync
Section titled “Automatic Sync”Configure in Settings:

| Every 24 hours | Stable catalog |
Webhook Sync
Section titled “Webhook Sync”Real-time updates when:
- Products created
- Products updated
- Products deleted
Enable in Settings > Sync > Webhooks
Shopify API Issues
Section titled “Shopify API Issues”Rate Limiting
Section titled “Rate Limiting”Symptoms: Sync fails with rate limit error
Cause: Too many API calls
Fix:
- Wait 1 hour
- Sync will resume automatically
- Reduce other apps if frequent
API Changes
Section titled “API Changes”Symptoms: Fields not syncing correctly
Cause: Shopify API update
Fix:
- Contact support
- We update regularly for API changes
Permission Issues
Section titled “Permission Issues”Missing Permissions
Section titled “Missing Permissions”Symptoms: Some data not syncing
Cause: App needs additional permissions
Fix:
- Go to Shopify Admin > Apps
- Find Feedy McFeed Feed
- Click to update permissions
App Reinstallation
Section titled “App Reinstallation”If permissions are broken:
- Note your settings
- Uninstall app
- Reinstall from App Store
- Reconfigure settings
Data Mapping Issues
Section titled “Data Mapping Issues”Fields Not Matching
Section titled “Fields Not Matching”Symptoms: Wrong data in feeds
Check:
- Go to Settings > Field Mappings
- Verify Shopify fields map correctly
- Update mappings if needed
Metafields Not Syncing
Section titled “Metafields Not Syncing”Fix:
- Verify metafield namespace/key
- Check metafield type matches
- Update mapping configuration
Large Catalog Sync
Section titled “Large Catalog Sync”For stores with 100,000+ products:
Initial Sync
Section titled “Initial Sync”- May take several hours
- Progress shown in dashboard
- Don’t interrupt
Ongoing Sync
Section titled “Ongoing Sync”- Incremental only updates changes
- Much faster than full sync
- Scheduled automatically
When to Contact Support
Section titled “When to Contact Support”Contact support if:
- Repeated sync failures
- Data consistently wrong
- Missing products after sync
- Error messages unclear
Include:
- Last successful sync time
- Error messages
- Products affected
- Recent Shopify changes
