Fixing Image Issues
Image issues are among the most common reasons for product disapprovals. This guide covers how to identify and fix image problems.
Common Image Issues

Image Size Requirements

Finding Products with Image Issues

- Filter by:
- “Image Issue” = Yes
- Or specific: “Image Too Small”, “Missing Image”
- Review affected products
Fixing Small Images
Section titled “Fixing Small Images”Option 1: Replace in Shopify
Section titled “Option 1: Replace in Shopify”- Find original high-resolution image
- Upload to Shopify product
- Feedy McFeed Feed auto-updates on next sync
Option 2: Use Different Image
Section titled “Option 2: Use Different Image”- Check if variant has larger image
- Or use additional_image if larger
- Configure image priority in settings
Option 3: Upscale (Last Resort)
Section titled “Option 3: Upscale (Last Resort)”Not recommended—upscaled images may look blurry.
Fixing Broken Image URLs
Section titled “Fixing Broken Image URLs”Diagnose the Problem
Section titled “Diagnose the Problem”Test the URL in your browser:
- 404 = Image deleted or moved
- 403 = Access denied
- Timeout = Server issue
Solutions

Supported Image Formats

Recommendation: Use JPEG for photos, PNG for graphics with transparency.
Image Quality Guidelines

- White or neutral backgrounds
- Professional lighting
- Product fills 75% of frame
- Multiple angles (additional images)
Don’ts
Section titled “Don’ts”- Blurry or pixelated images
- Text overlays or watermarks
- Promotional badges (“SALE”, “NEW”)
- Cluttered backgrounds
- Stock photos with visible watermarks
Apparel Image Requirements
Section titled “Apparel Image Requirements”For clothing products:

Additional Images
Section titled “Additional Images”Adding multiple images improves performance:
- Front view (primary)

Setting Up Additional Images
Section titled “Setting Up Additional Images”- Add images to Shopify product
- In Feedy McFeed Feed, enable “Include additional images”
- Set maximum number (typically 5-10)
Image Validation Settings
Section titled “Image Validation Settings”Configure in Settings > Validation:

Placeholder Image Detection
Section titled “Placeholder Image Detection”Feedy McFeed Feed detects common placeholders:
- “No image available” graphics
- Generic product silhouettes
- Low-resolution thumbnails
- Default Shopify placeholders
Products with placeholders are flagged for attention.
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”Images work in browser but fail validation
Section titled “Images work in browser but fail validation”Possible causes:
- Geo-blocking (test from different location)
- Rate limiting on image server
- Temporary server issue
Solution: Wait and re-validate, or host images elsewhere.
Images look fine but flagged as too small
Section titled “Images look fine but flagged as too small”Cause: Actual image dimensions vs displayed size differ.
Solution: Check actual pixel dimensions, not CSS display size.
Shopify images appear correct but feed shows wrong image
Section titled “Shopify images appear correct but feed shows wrong image”Cause: Image sync delay or cache issue.
Solution: Force sync in Feedy McFeed Feed, wait 10 minutes, regenerate feed.
